Spirit wear is any apparel that shows support for a school, team, or organization, usually in school colors with the mascot, logo, or name. The most common pieces are t-shirts, hoodies, crewnecks, and caps worn by students, families, and staff on game days, spirit days, and school events. Many schools and PTAs also sell spirit wear as a fundraiser.
Start with your school logo or mascot, the pieces you want, and a size breakdown across youth and adult sizes. Send us your files and we recommend the right decoration method for each garment, then send a digital proof showing placement, size, and colors. Nothing goes into production until you approve it. Vector files (AI, EPS, PDF, or SVG) give the cleanest results, but a low resolution logo can still be reviewed.
A bright t-shirt in school colors with the mascot is the easiest starting point, since it works for spirit days, field trips, and field day. Hoodies and crewnecks sell well in colder months, and many schools add a shirt for each grade or a yearly design with the class year. Sew NC produces school spirit wear from its shop at 121 Back Forty Drive in Winston-Salem, and works with schools, PTAs, and booster clubs across North Carolina, including Greensboro, High Point, Charlotte, Raleigh, and Durham. Every order is decorated in house, so you work directly with the team producing your school’s apparel.
Price per piece depends on the garment, the number of ink colors, print locations, and the decoration method. Setup is spread across the order, so the price per shirt drops as quantity goes up. Minimums are 12 pieces for screen printing, DTF, and embroidered caps, and 6 pieces for embroidered polos and jackets. Send us your quantities and we will quote the full cost.
Standard turnaround is two weeks after proof approval and payment, and rush production is available for an additional charge. St. Michael School’s 135 custom patch hats were produced and finished in two weeks. For spirit week, homecoming, or field day, plan for at least two weeks of production plus time for the quote and proof.
