Answers to the questions businesses ask before placing a bulk order: minimums, pricing,
decoration methods, artwork and turnaround.

Getting Started

The basics before you place your first order.

Who offers custom screen printing and embroidery in Winston-Salem, NC?

Sew NC has produced custom apparel in-house in Winston-Salem since 2010. From our shop at 121 Back Forty Drive, we handle screen printing, DTF and embroidery for businesses, schools and organizations across North Carolina.

Sew NC is a custom apparel printer based in Winston-Salem, NC, specialized in bulk orders. We screen print, DTF print and embroider t-shirts in-house for businesses, schools, teams and events. See our bulk custom t-shirts.

Send us your logo, the garments you want, the quantity per size and your deadline. We reply with a quote and a digital proof, and once you approve it we produce the order in-house. You can start with our quote form.

Include the garment style, quantity per size, number of ink colors, print or embroidery locations, your logo file and your deadline. The more detail you share, the more accurate your quote will be.

Yes. Minimums depend on the decoration method and the garment. Because we specialize in business and group orders, the best pricing comes on larger quantities, and our team confirms the minimum with your quote.

Who We Work With

The businesses and organizations we produce for.

What types of customers does Sew NC work with?

We work with businesses, schools, sports teams, event organizers and clothing brands that need branded apparel for their people. Most of our clients order for teams, staff or events. See our business services.

Sew NC is set up for business and group orders, so our pricing and production process are designed for multiple pieces per design. Request a quote with your quantity and our team will confirm the minimum for your project.

We produce apparel for healthcare and biotech teams, restaurants and hospitality, construction and trade crews, sports teams and leagues, schools and corporate offices, from work uniforms to client-facing polos.

Reorders are simple. Reference your previous order when you contact us and our team will match the artwork, garments and colors, so new hires and seasonal uniforms look consistent.

Pricing & Quantities

What affects the cost of your order.

How much does it cost to get 100 t-shirts printed?

The cost depends on the shirt style, the number of ink colors, the print locations and the decoration method. The more pieces you order, the lower the price per shirt. Request a free quote with your design to get an exact price.

Screen printing needs a screen for each ink color, which is part of the setup for every design. That setup is why the price per shirt drops as the quantity grows. Your quote shows the full cost of your order.

For large orders, screen printing is usually cheaper because the setup is spread across many pieces. DTF is often more cost-effective for small runs, full-color designs or orders with many different designs.

Yes. In screen printing, each ink color and each print location adds to the setup. Embroidery pricing depends on the size and detail of the logo, and DTF handles full-color designs in a single print.

Choosing a Method

Screen printing, DTF or embroidery: which one fits your project.

What is the best method for company logos on polos and jackets?

Embroidery is the best choice for polos, jackets and caps. The stitched logo looks premium, holds up to frequent washing and gives client-facing teams a professional look. See our custom polos.

Screen printing is the most cost-effective and durable option for large runs of t-shirts and hoodies with a logo of a few colors. Learn more about our screen printing in Winston-Salem.

Choose DTF for full-color artwork, gradients, small runs of many different designs, or individual names and numbers. It also works well on blended fabrics. See our commercial DTF printing.

Screen printing usually lasts longer, since the ink bonds into the fabric and holds up through many washes, which is why it is the standard for bulk orders. DTF is also durable and flexible, and a great option for detailed, full-color designs.

Yes. A common combination is embroidered polos for staff and screen printed t-shirts for an event or giveaway. We recommend the right method for each piece and keep the branding consistent across all of them.

Artwork & Approval

Files, colors and proofs.

What logo file should I send?

Vector files such as AI, EPS, PDF or SVG give the cleanest results, and a high-resolution PNG also works for DTF. If you only have a low-resolution logo, send it anyway and our team will review it and recommend the best option.

Yes. We match ink colors to your brand colors as closely as possible and choose the nearest thread colors for embroidery. You will see the colors on your proof before production.

Always. Every order starts with a digital proof showing placement, size and colors, and nothing goes into production until you approve it.

Timing & Delivery

Deadlines and where we work.

How far in advance should I order for an event?

Contact us as early as possible before your event. That leaves time for the quote, proof approval and production without rushing.

Timing depends on the garment, the number of colors and print locations, and current production schedules. Production starts after proof approval, so share your deadline when you request a quote and our team will confirm the schedule.

Every order goes through proof approval before production, so timelines depend on each project. If your deadline is tight, share the date when you request a quote and our team will confirm what is possible.

Yes. Besides the Triad, including Greensboro and High Point, we produce apparel for businesses in Charlotte, Raleigh, Durham, Wilmington, Asheville and across North Carolina. Contact us to plan pickup or delivery for your location.

Care & Quality

Keeping your apparel looking new.

How long does screen printing last?

A quality screen print lasts as long as the garment itself. Wash shirts inside out in cold water, tumble dry on low or hang dry, and avoid ironing directly on the print.

Yes. Embroidery is stitched into the fabric, so it keeps its shape and color through repeated washing. That durability is why it is the standard for uniforms and workwear.

Not when it is applied correctly and cared for properly. A well-pressed DTF print stays flexible and resists cracking and peeling. Wash inside out in cold water and avoid high dryer heat.

It depends on how the shirts will be used. Gildan and Port & Company are budget-friendly for events, Bella+Canvas and Next Level offer a softer retail feel, and Sport-Tek works well for performance wear. We also carry District, OGIO, TravisMathew and The North Face.
