100 pieces is a solid bulk quantity that already earns better per shirt pricing than a small run. The final number depends on the garment and how many colors are in the design, so send the specs over for an exact quote.
Screen printing is cheaper for large runs of the same design, because the setup cost gets spread across every piece. DTF is cheaper for small runs, since there’s no screen setup to pay for.
Screen printed apparel holds up for years of regular wear and washing when it’s printed properly, since the ink bonds directly into the fabric. That durability is why it’s the standard for staff uniforms and everyday team apparel.
Setup cost per color makes it a poor fit for very small runs or highly detailed multicolor artwork. For those, DTF is usually the better call. For bulk runs of a clean design, those downsides mostly disappear.
DTF sits on top of the fabric rather than bonding into it, so on garments washed constantly it won’t outlast a quality screen print. It also costs more per piece at higher volumes, which is why bulk orders usually go to screen printing instead.
Vector artwork (.ai or .eps) works best for printing and embroidery. If all that’s available is a low resolution logo, send it anyway. It can usually be made ready to print or stitch.
